Alexandria Radio Club is inviting you to a scheduled monthly meeting via
Zoom.

Featured Topic: AREDN: "That Other Kind of Net" by Joe Porcelli (KT3I)

 

Joe will discuss an overview of AREDN and its capabilities and limitations.
Lessons learned from prior deployments including MCM Deployments and testing
with Marine Corp G6 and DOT will be discussed.  The lessons learned will
lead into a short discussion on equipment selection. The program will then
conclude with a discussion about how the Club can best leverage AREDN to
serve the City of Alexandria in case of disasters/emergencies. 

 

>From a young age Joe was interested in both computers and radio.  At 14 he
got his golden ham ticket, with the callsign KB3EDR around this time he
started a small computer concern that specialized in building small to
medium sized computer networks for businesses.  In college Joe studied
Electrical Engineering where he concentrated in control theory.   After
college Joe worked as control systems engineer and systems programmer for
few years before branching out into the consulting world.  For the past ten
years Joe has been employed as a Firefighter/Hazmat Specialist with the City
of Alexandria, as well as, maintaining a small consulting business around
prototyping.
