Tom (Et. al),

I recently picked-up a RPi 4B that’s working beautifully. It came with a plastic case that I upgraded to a metal case, which also included a built-in fan and heat syncs for each of the three main chips.

I’d suggest picking-up a larger microSD card (at least 32GB; mine is 128GB) and installing the Raspberry Pi OS on it before doing anything else; save the original card. In fact, I backup the contents of my cards every time that I make a major change to them, so I can jump back to any previous point, if needed.

After you install the OS on the new card (if you so choose), you might want to check-out this excellent website that will help you setup your new RPi for Ham Radio use (if that’s your intention):

https://dl1gkk.com/setup-raspberry-pi-for-ham-radio/

It’s a very thorough site. The instructions are about 95%+ correct. Not hard to install, but it does take some time; that’s the nature of Linux and Linux-like OSs.

Enjoy the new toy! 73,

Back in the beginning of November, I ordered a Raspberry Pi 400 (computer in a keyboard), and the necessary peripherals. Unfortunately, they dropped the ball, and my order didn't get shipped until last week. I now have it, and I will check it out and give a review, and see if I can get any ham radio data mode applications to work some time in the future.

I just bought the computer/keyboard. I didn't buy all the other things in the package. That said, one third of the price was shipping.
