Hello and welcome to the unofficial Red Cross EmComm Training mailing
list/message board.  Thank you very much for signing up.

Your participation in the Fall 2020 Drill was appreciated.  Over 1500 radio
amateurs took part and over 900 have already signed up on this groups.io
message board.  By the way, please take just a minute to check your own
listing to make sure we have your first and last name and call sign; thanks!



The purpose of the message board is to efficiently get the word out
concerning news and upcoming events of the Red Cross EmComm Training
group.  The message board replaces the excel spreadsheet that was being
maintained by one of our drill organizers and due to it's size, had become
ungainly.  This message board is "announce only," not a discussion group.



Going forward, this message board will be your alert system and will direct
you via hyperlinks to documents on our google drive

and to our website that is still in development.  The message board is

Briefing Call described below.



NEWS:

a) the very popular *Winlink Thursdays* will resume weekly starting Jan
7th. In January, we will repeat the Winlink Thursday sessions that took
place last fall to give everyone a chance to review and to allow our new
subscribers to get up to speed. After that review, Winlink Thursday becomes
a monthly exercise taking place on the second Thursday of the month
beginning February 9th.  We will present new information to help prepare
for the upcoming Spring Drill. Look for more information to be posted in a
few days.

b) our Spring 2021 Drill will be *May 8th*, which is World Red Cross Day.



c) we will have a *Briefing Call* in late January and you will be
invited.  Save
your questions till then.
