Rick and all,
Thanks for the ARC shorts -- great update. It is a testament to a LOT of
great activity going on. My involvement with ARES at INOVA on the Jan 20th
was my first ever ARES event and it was a fantastic learning and training
experience. The INOVA staff were very accommodating and very
appreciative of our support. Rick, KA4GFY, thanks for the opportunity.
On a different note, after four months of studying nights and weekends, my
daughters, Meredith (KO4JIJ), 12 y.o., and Vivian (KO4JIK), 15 y.o., earned
their General tickets on Jan 31st after earning their Tech tickets back in
mid-November. We linked up with GLAARG (Greater Los Angeles Amateur Radio
Group) to take their exams via Zoom. It was very well run by the
professionals at GLAARG. There were 80 people taking their exams that
day. Meredith, Vivian, and I look forward to being more involved with ARC
in 2021.
