[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] POTA Activation

For the close-in stations (NC, OH, IN), 40 meters will be your best bet.
In the evening, 75 will work great.  I wouldn't worry too much about NVIS
.  You are probably passing right over them on 20 meters.

When the band conditions are good, you will be amazed at what you can
work.
