You can turn off windows automatic driver updates by doing the following...
Select start>File explorer>properties>advanced system settings>Select the hardware tab>select device system settings>then select no let me choose what to do>select save changes.
This will stop windows device driver updates and hopefully cure your problem!

I experienced a similar issue not that long ago. I had to reinstall the USB
drivers for the COM ports that connect my laptop to my radio. A Windows 10
update removed the unlicensed driver software that I had installed.
Apparently, Windows thinks unlicensed ham software is a security risk. Try
checking in the "Device Manager" under "Ports (COM & LPT)" to verify the
drivers and COM ports are as you remember them.
