[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] JS8 and HF phone simplex

Good evening Club. I made my first DX phone contact into Slovenia today. It was also my first phone contact ever on 20 meters.  I was also picked up on FT8 in Australia yesterday with a Yaesu FT891.  I am hoping to do some JS8 but the adoption rate seems much lower than FT8.  From what I have learned so far, JS8 is based on the FT8 framework so really good signal/noise ratio but also allows for more conversation versus just signal reports.  If anyone in the local area could, I would like to dial down my power to ~ 5 watts and do some JS8 and/or simplex 20 meters. Currently 5 watts on FT8 gets me approximately as far as the Mississippi River on both 10 and 20 meters.  I can also set up a back channel on the Zello app to coordinate.
