Have you been studying to get your ham radio license? Are you already
licensed and want to upgrade? Looking for a testing session in the current
COVID environment? The Northern Virginia FM Association working with the
Fairfax County Fire and Rescue Department and Fairfax County CERT is pleased
to offer a ham radio testing session on 31 October.
What: Amateur Radio VE Testing
Where: Fire Station 413 (2148 Gallows Road, Dunn Loring, VA 22027) in the
bingo hall at the back of the building
When: October 31, 2020
Time: 1100-1300
Cost: $15 payable on site, only cash or check will be accepted. (Note:
Volunteer Examination Coordinators may not be able to provide change, so
cash of exactly $15 is preferred.) If you plan to pay by check, please
bring it with you to fill out onsite.
Physical distancing will be enforced while taking the exam. The facility
will be set up to utilize 8-foot-long tables, with seating appropriately
spaced between students. There will be HVAC and air circulating systems
running to ensure adequate air flow. Masks will be required.
What do you need to have with you when you arrive:
1. Government photo ID for yourself
2. FCC FRN number (directions below)
3. $15.00 check or cash. We will give direction on who to make the
check out to on site
You will need an FRN when you come to the test. If you already have your
license or any FCC license in the last 15 years or so, you should have one.
It's listed on your license or you can search it through the same link.
