[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] D-star

Don,
Hopefully we can get the testing sessions scheduled as soon as it's
safe for all concerned. I wrote the D-Star e-mail as many have D-Star
capable radios, but the use of them via an internet gateway is a bit
confusing. Many are saying that DMR (Digital Mobile Radio) which is a
Motorola invented mode for public service (mostly in Europe) is replacing
D-Star, but I disagree. So, that is why I sent the e-mail
The 7100 is D-Star capable and another area that may be of interest
is the digital ability (text) using D-RATS. Will go more into that in an
ARC SHORTS article.
73 and look forward to seeing you at a club meeting.

Hi Don,

Look at:
dstarinfo.com
dstarusers.org

DSTARinfo has a really neat calculator that will make programming easy,
PowerPoint slides from Dasyton Hamvention and Orlando Hamcation training,
repeater directories and downloadable files for programming some radios.

Be sure to join the club when you start using the repeaters.
