Last night we completed our first FCC license via tele video using Zoom.
Zoom is now being widely use by schools, universities and ham clubs across
the U.S. You can find out about Zoom at <https://zoom.us/>
https://zoom.us/.
The license class went very well after getting off to a rocky start because
as meeting host I got locked out of the meeting room. In time, I was able
to set up a new meeting room and with the patience of attendee, we
eventually got going. As in any first time experience, there was a lot to
learn. During the instructions, students in the class had a lot of
questions which gave us a feeling that they were interested and engaged.
Since it is unknown how long COVID-19 lockdown will last, we are planning to
have our April club meeting using Zoom. The positive experience we gained
with Zoom last night gives us the expectation that we can successfully
conduct regular ARC club meetings with it as well.
