[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] ARC George Washington Birthday Parade Support

I want to give special thanks and KUDOs to those club members who supported
the George Washington Birthday Parade this year.  Although we provide this
support every year, sometimes it's good to pause and think about the
enduring meaning of this event to the city of Alexandria, being at the
center of important American history.  And what it means for the Alexandria
Radio Club to have saluted this event with its participation, year after
year.  Attached is a note of thanks to the club from the George Washington
Birthday Celebration Committee.  I sincerely hope our tradition of providing
this support goes on well into the future.  

 

I also want to give a special "Shout-Out" to Joe Porcelli, KT3I, for his
energy, enthusiasm, and technical know-how in leading the effort to deploy
AREDN networks for support of the parade.  What we learn in efforts like
these are critical for future deployment of AREDN in support of the City.
We are looking forward to Joe's AREDN presentation at our next club meeting.
