As a reminder, Paul Stoetzer, N8HM, will give a presentation on AMSAT at our
monthly meeting next Friday. Paul is Executive Vice President of AMSAT and
will give us an update on many of the exciting things going on with amateur
radio and satellites. As many of you may know our club has pledged to
participate in Amateur Radio on the International Space Station (ARISS), a
program to inspire students, worldwide, to pursue interests and careers in
science, technology, engineering and math through amateur radio
communications opportunities with the International Space Station (ISS)
on-orbit crew. In the ARIIS program the Alexandria Radio Club would provide
an amateur radio communications link from the ISS to Children at the
Children's Hospital in Washington, DC. Enclosed are links to the June AMSAT
publication; and a link to the ARISS program, which was recently reorganized
as an independent non-profit organization.
