All,

The George Washington's Birthday parade is February 17th.
We have been asked to do what have done in the past. We need at least 12
ham radio operators to support this effort.

                Three missions

1 - Update the ORDER OF MARCH file with inputs from the
Parade Marshals and send it from the Parade Start to the Reviewing Stand

2 - Provide safety communications from the marshals to the
reviewing stand or to the parade organizers

3 - Provide situational awareness with ARPS operators at the
start and end of the parade.

                ASSIGNMENTS

REVIEWING STAND - 2 operators - Required AREDN unit (2.4Ghz
Channel -2 ) we will need a few more units that can be installed in two
positions to relay to the Trailer. The Trailer has a unit and I have a unit.

Packet can be backup. An APRS display will be set up with
the operators at the reviewing stand to allow relay positions to the
reviewing stand officials

                APRS

Need two operators who can shadow marshals and go with the
start and end of the parade. (TH-D72 or TH-74A)

                PARADE MARSHALS SHADOWS.

Need 5 operators with 2 meter or 440 HTs to work with the
Division marshals. We don't have enough operators for all 10 or so
divisions so we will position our shadows at points A, B, C, D, E and F

                TRAILER

2 Operators, one to operator the computer to edit the order
of march and send via AREDN or Packet to the reviewing stand.

                Plan

9 AM Operators will meet at the Fire
Training Center Parking Lot, to help with the trailer and get handouts and
briefing

9:30 AM Car Pool to the parade Start / End
point (see attached maps)

11 AM Those assigned to shadow the
marshals pare up with the marshals and assist with organizing the divisions
and collect any changes (Bring paper)

1 PM Parade Start - Take changes to the
trailer and provide them to the operator in the trailer so the order of
march changes can be edited and sent via AREDN or Packet to the Reviewing
Stand

                                                APRS operators should be at
the START and END

                2:30 Parade End

                For ORDER OF MARCH.

                Division shadows (A, B, C, D, E and F) collect changes
(ADDS, DROPS and REORDER)

It is better if shadows wait until the divisions are in
order and FINALIZED. Many units changes are LAST MINUTE. Once your SURE
that you have a complete set of changes

and they are written down so that the trailer operator can understand your
notes, please take them to the trailer. Even if you have no changes go to
the trailer and advise them.

A final list will be provided at the 9AM briefing that SHOULD be the same
one used by the marshals. You can make your notes on that list. ADD (put a
note WHERE in the list they appear.

DROPS - DID NOT SHOW BY 12:45. Change in order from where to where (from
behind X to behind Y.

We need ALL inputs by 1PM (Parade Start). It's a short parade. If we don't
get the info in soon after 1 PM, we miss our timing.

APRS Operators, If you are collect information above, make sure you get
your into to the trailer by 12:45.

Reviewing stand

Need a station that can work out of a vehicle parked BEHIND the reviewing
stand. Advise the police that you are parade communications and they will
let you park behind the reviewing stand.

We will need at least two operators at the reviewing stand. One to work the
digital (AREDN, PACKET, APRS) and one to handle voice communications.

TRAILER

2 operators - Digital and voice.

Thiis will be a CONTROLED NET. Net Control will be either at the Reviewing
Stand or the Trailer.
