[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] Alexandria Hospital Drill - E-mail #1 - Advanced notice

All,

                This is for ARES, but for this drill others who would like
to participate are welcome.

                The INOVA Alexandria Hospital will be upgrading their remote
telemetry system on DECEMBER 16th.  This has been done at two other INOVA
hospitals and one had a glitch with dropped the telemetry system and there
was a need for reducing patients and going to room by room monitoring.   

                The DRILL is set up because the hospital will activate their
EMERGENCY CENTER for this software upgrade as a precaution and that makes
having a DRILL easy for them to do.

                Our primary effort will be to link up to five (5) other
INOVA hospitals,  Alexandria EOC (if they are willing)  and The Northern Va.
Hospital Alliance. (I will find out more about that shortly.

                The drill for ALEXANDRIA is December 16th which is a
Wednesday from 8AM to about 11AM.   I need to know who can participate and
what capabilities you have.  We would send operators to the EOC (again, if
they play) Mt. Vernon and Fairfax and others INOVA hospitals.  IF other
jurisdictions are interested we would be happy to have Fairfax ARES and
Arlington ARES support hospitals in their areas.

                This is the FIRST notification.  More details will be
forthcoming.

 

                If you are an ARES volunteer and CANNOT participate,  I
would appreciate your letting me know, so I don't call you for this drill.
