Hi Rick,

One other question. Do you know anyone that has a functioning DC area DMRVA codeplug for a AT-D868UV?

Thanks,

Cameron

Thank you Rick. I was curious about the Arlington Site. I am able to receive some traffic from that site. I'm hearing some conversations on the DCI Bride Talkgroup right now. If the Arlington site isn't a repeater, what is it?

You might try the ARLINGTON zone. They have two zones with brandmister channels. You should have NO problem reaching the Alexandria machine. It located at the Alexandria Hospital not far from you.

On the gun show, We get there about 9AM or so and stay to just after noon. I have an electric scooter that I use to get around these events. Or you can call me on my cell 703-927-1925.

Rick,

Thank you so much for the offer. I'll keep trying some things on my end and if I can't figure it out, I'd really appreciate the chance to meet up with you. I have loaded the contacts list, have the latest firmware, turned on double slot digital mini, etc. I did hear a conversation this morning, down the hill from my house (Telegraph road, near I-95). It was someone from the UK! So maybe things are working okay, but I was surprised that I'm not able to reach the repeater from my house (Near Huntington Station). Right now, I'm sitting in my office in Dupont Circle and I can't reach the Washington or Alexandria repeater. Maybe I need a different antenna?

I didn't know the gun show was this weekend. I might have to stop by myself!

Thanks again Rick, I appreciate your assistance.

Caneron,

I happy to get together. I’m retired so time is flexible for me. I’m not familiar with the Anytone radios, In addition to the code plug from www.dmrva.org <http://www.dmrva.org> you need to import the CONTACTS list. You need to look at your instructions to see how you get that list. Also check the internet / You-Tube. I had that problem with my CS-750. You should have no problem with the Alexandria DMR repeater and it should be in the DMRVA code plug. Some of these channels are NOT very active. When you have time, Let me know what time you can get on the Alexandria DMR repeater and select the Alexandria LOCAL channel and we can see if that works first. If that fails then we can trouble shoot.

I’m tied up today and tomorrow. Tomorrow is the gun show at Dullas, so I’m going to check out what’s for sale. My wife comes back from Florida on Tuesday so most of Monday and Tuesday will be cleaning the house, but I will be around.

Check out loading the contacts list and see if that helps. When you get that done, you can try any of the channels on the Alexandria repeater. I would look at TAC310, and Virginia Statewide. Just call CQ and see who comes back.

Hi Rick,

This is Cameron KN4YEV. We connected about a week ago. I think you said you were in Alexandria. I am too. When we spoke, you told me about DMR, channel 3100 and how I could connect with others around the country. After our conversation, I bought an Anyone AT-D868UV, programmed the DMRVA code plug, and have been slowly learning about DMR and how the radio works. Unfortunately, I've had limited success with connecting (or hearing) anyone on the radio. I thought I would get a strong signal since I am only 2.5 miles from the Alexandria DMRVA repeater.

Are you familiar with DMR and the Anytone radios? By chance, could I buy you a coffee and ask a few questions about the radio?

Thanks and have a great Friday.

Cameron
