[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] The two most important check-boxes for WSJT-X and FT-8

With 15 second intervals used with FT-8, you have very little time to
select the station you wish to communicate with and enable transmit.
Fortunately, you can let your computer do all this for you automatically.
Under File -> Settings be sure to check the boxes for "Double-click on call
sets Tx enable" and "Disable Tx after sending 73". With these settings,
you only need to double-click on a station, that is calling CQ, and the
interchange between your stations will start to happen automatically. When
the software sees a 73 from the other station, it will turn "Tx enable" off
and stop you from continuing to communicate.

If you double-click on a station calling CQ and they don't respond, nor do
you see them talking to anyone else, the software will still attempt to
contact them, so keep in mind you may need to disable Tx manually after a
few unsuccessful attempts or the software will continue to try and reach
them. You can change the "Tx watchdog" setting to limit the time you try.

If you double-click on a station calling CQ and they don't respond BUT you
the software sees that they responded to another station, "Tx enable" will
automatically turn off.

Hope this helps.
