[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] MD radio clubs??

Check out the ARRL webpage.  They have a search for clubs function near the top of the page.  One of the options is search within a radius around a zip code.  That is the narrowest radius to his location.

As far as specific clubs, Southern Maryland ARC and Laurel ARC are probably pretty close.
