[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] W4HFH DStar Gateway Software version G3

Hello all,

 

With the help of Marshall DeBerry, I got registered on the W4HFH D-Star
gateway back in 2011.  Since then, I have retired and moved to Idaho to be
closer to children and grandchildren.

 

What I was wondering is this - I just recently bought a new Icom ID-4100A
DStar capable radio with the DV gateway function for both terminal mode and
access point mode.

>From what I have read, the Icom ID-5100 and Icom ID-51A+ also have that
capability, but in order for the 4100A and the others to employ the DV
gateway function, the D-Star Gateway Software must utilize the G3 version
update vice the G2 version.

 

So I was just wondering with the recent editions of these newer Icom radios
and their new abilities to perform in terminal and AP modes, if you have
given any thought to updating the W4HFH Gateway repeater to the new G3
software any time in the near future to accommodate these new features?
That sure would be some great news for me and possibly any others with these
newer Icom radios.  Thanks for all you do in supporting the ham radio
community.
