Subject: [VWS] Will it be the end of 2m band?

 

French military proposes to kick out amateurs as the primary users in 144-146 band and assign it to aeronautical communication. Hopefully, due to amount of existing infrastructure, this proposal will not get through, but given the weight of the organization behind it, it is not guaranteed. For now it's in Europe, but once they push it through, it will be just a matter of time that the band will be reallocated in US as well.
