[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] ARC Field Day Food Committee and General FD Planning Meeting 5 June 2019

This note is an update to the previous enclosed note concerning the food
service committee planning meeting scheduled for tomorrow, June 5th.  In
addition to FD food service planning, this meeting will be expanded in scope
to cover the status of public outreach for Field Day, a review of the
overall status of Field Day planning, including class of operation, site
antenna layout, and individual roles for station operations, logistics, and
ARRL bonus points.  A Field Day planning spreadsheet being prepared will be
used as the guide for status discussions.

 

All are invited.  The meeting will be held at 7:00 p.m. at the  John
Marshall Library, 6209 Rose Hill Dr, Alexandria, VA 22310.   We will be
using the side entrance on Rose Hill Drive because the library closes at

Yesterday I spoke with Wilson about Field Day 2019 food planning.  Wilson
has a lot of great ideas for Field Day food service that we would like to
share with members of the club before Field Day for input or opinions.  We
are also looking for volunteers to help Wilson with the logistics of food
service on Field Day.  Because we are celebrating our 65th Anniversary this
year and we expect to have more participation from the City of Alexandria
and the community, food planning will be somewhat different this year.

 

If there is sufficient interest, we will host a food service committee
meeting at the John Marshall Library on June 5th at 7:00 p.m. to discuss
Field Day food planning to include  menus and the logistics of food
acquisition, delivery and service.  When discussing the menus, options for
food allergies need to be discussed.  We will also need to discuss estimates
of the number of servings needed.

 

Please send a note to Wilson and me if interested in helping with food
service on Field Day.  Thanks in advance for your cooperation and
contributions.
