[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] New radio

I just today got my new SDRplay RSP2pro software defined receiver. I'm
still learning the ins and outs of it, and will write a review for the
club newsletter after I've had a chance to play with it a while.

A few things I've learned so far:

1.) I haven't been able to get the Linux software to work *well* with
it, at least not on my GPD Pocket computer. I'll try later on my
Zareason Linux Laptop.

2.) Right now, I just have a Diamond SRH789 antenna on it, but I've
discovered that it isn't as sensitive as some traditional receivers I'm
used to, at least that's the way it appears. I'll see what I think after
more testing.

3.) The SDRuno software for Windows is complicated, and will take some
getting used to. I really like the spectrum scope and waterfall display
on, and wish that all my control panels would come up by default. The
software is relatively simple to install on Windows.

4.) It covers 1khz to 2ghz, however, I think the QST article points out
that it isn't really very sensitive below 100khz. Not too shabby for a
radio that fits in the palm of your hand and gets its power from the USB
port.

It's made in the UK, I think. HRO is the US distributor from what I can
tell.
