Subject: [csidmr] N0GSG DMR Contact Manager and DMR-MARC Database Issue
Addressed (Release: 2.20a)
To:
All,
N0GSG Contact Manager is an application that's built for managing codeplugs
in RDT and RDB radios such as the Connect Systems
CS700/701/750/751/800/801, Tytera MD-380, and quite a few others. It's
designed to provide direct access to the DMR-MARC worldwide user database.
Several hams brought to my attention that Contact Manager was displaying
the error message "Database is unavailable, sorry" when attempting to
import contacts from DMR-MARC.
After a little investigation, I found that there's been a subtle server
configuration change over at DMR-MARC, and I tightened up Contact Manager's
Web Agent to accommodate this change. As a result, Contact Manager can now
again access DMR-MARC as before.
To restore DMR-MARC database access for your installation of Contact
Manager, simply delete the Contact Manager executable file from your
computer, then download the latest version from http://n0gsg.no-ip.org/
contact-manager/.
The executable file is still named "ContactManagerV220.exe", however, the
new program will display its version as "2.20a" to reflect the minor update
I've made.
Upcoming is version 2.30, which will expand the range of RDT and RDB radios
supported. Support for other formats is still being investigated - - so
many formats, so little time!
I hope that everyone continues to get good use from the application. Your
support and feedback are much appreciated!
73,
Tom
