This is the last call. So far we have four confirmed out of 10 required
for group discount, and one person only asked for pricing. I will be
ordering mine tomorrow with or without group discount.

Today I consulted with Joe at HRO and with Rich, and I can confirm that in
order for ARC members to get a store discount on the Alinco DJ-G29, there
must be a group buy of at least 10 radios. After consulting with Rich, I
have agreed to serve at the point of contact for a group buy for those who
are interested. I just need the names of those who want to be in the group
buy by Thursday, October 30th. That is when a decision will be made whether
a group buy is a "go," or not. Please let me know by email.

Don, KI4D

If you are interested in the Alinco DJ-G29 handheld, HRO has 165 left in
stock as of 1200 EDT on Saturday, October 25.

You CAN get a discount if you call HRO in Woodbridge and ask for Joe. You
have to tell him you are with the Alexandria Radio Club to get the discount.

Joe will not be in on Tuesday, October 28, but he will be in the rest of the
week.

We have great sounding repeaters on 1.25 meters and 33 cm. Our 33 cm

repeater is one of the few in Northern VA. Both need more activity. The

220 MHz band is unbelievably quiet. There are no commercial users around it
to create noise. However, we share 900 MHz with many other users, but its a
great band for short range activities.

73,

Rich, KA4GFY
