Jeremy/all,

These filters look like a reasonable deal and something we needed last
year. There was a lot of interference between stations and these appear to
control that.

I wonder if they would give us a special price for multiple filters. I
would like to get one 20 mtr unit.

In researching interference issues and looking for a quick bandpass filter
that could be easily built, I came across the W3NQN bandpass filter in a
1998 issue of QST. Unfortunately, sourcing parts for these can be
difficult, so I've come across commercial alternatives:

They sell 2 versions of this famous filter - an "Economy" mass produced
version for about $65 that is "probably" tuned and a genuine "hand made"
version by W3NQN (or acolytes) for a smidge over $100. These filters are
monoband filters and offer very little insertion loss (less than .5db in most
cases). They are suitable for tuned antennas or need to be placed between
the tuner and the radio. I will most likely order the 40m one for my station
for Field Day. This may actually be something that the club should invest
in for Field Days to come to all but eliminate cross band interference due
to splatter, antenna placement, and CW operators :P

Just passing the information on.

All,
Jack asked me to send you this reminder that he would like to meet with
the band captains, club officers and other interested parties at the Field
Day site at 2 PM on Sunday June 2nd to lay out station locations and antenna
placements, so we don't have last minute issues.
Please be prepared to outline what you will need that you have not lined
up for your station. Think Power, Antenna, shelter etc.
