[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] ID-1

ALL,

Indeed it has been quite a while since I have seen, spoken, or heard
many from the club. I do miss the DC area though my Navy Reserve and
civilian consultative duties have kept me busy in other places (my
Father's illness and passing last week keeping me in Philly the most
lately). I do recall that there is a lot of 1.2GHz expertise in the
club and I recently obtained an ID-1 radio (absent a microphone, going
to get the HM-154T).

I have been advised that locally (I am in Charlotte right now), that
absent a multi-element beam I might not make it into the local area
repeaters very easily from where I am (though am changing locales from
where I will live soon). The problem is, renting and setting up such
an antenna is highly unlikely! :)

Whilst I am going to order a microphone, I also wish to order an
antenna with for it too. I was investigating mobile Diamond antennas
(NR124N and their larger NR2000NA). Any advice would be appreciated!

I also need to get a magnetic mount (N style) and with the higher
frequencies involved am more concerned about the kind of feed line it
will have.

Thanks and 73,

Stuart
