[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] Thursday Night Netmeeting Survey

During our last Thursday night Net Meeting on 2 meters, it was noted that we
have only a third or less of the members joining regularly from week to
week.

The club is interested in increasing participation but needs to understand
what are the limiting factors. It was believed that they may include one or
more of the following:

- Lack of a suitable radio for participation

- Time of the net (Thursday at 8pm) presents a work or family
conflict

- Other competing activities

- Unable to hit the repeater from your preferred location

- Meetings have not been well-enough advertised

- Newest members are unfamiliar with net procedures and would like
assistance to join the first time

- The content of the net is perceived as uninteresting

There may be other reasons why we have 8 to 10 members rather than 30 or so.

I was invited to conduct a survey of our membership to try to determine what
impediments actually are to serve as a basis for

action to help improve participation.

Rather than flood our list server with responses I would be glad to
consolidate your responses and present to the club during

our next monthly meeting.

You are welcome to send your responses to KK4CBL at arrl.net.

Thank you and 73s to all.
