Alexandria Foxhunt Saturday 10 AM, May 14th.

A foxhunt is a radio direction finding event. We will have one person go to a random location in the City of Alexandria and transmit a signal. Teams with direction finding equipment will attempt to locate the transmitter.

We need one volunteer to be the fox. You will need to park your vehicle someplace in the City of Alexandria and transmit with a mobile radio for one minute every five minutes (one minute ON, four minutes OFF) on 146.490 simplex starting at 10 AM. You may not relocate to another location.

We need several mobile direction finding teams. Doppler DF units preferred.

We also need people at home stations with 2m beam antennas that can provide bearings to the fox.

Unlike a real transmitter hunt, this one has some advance notice to prepare.

Positive replies only. This is not a pedestrian event in a park. This is a county wide mobile foxhunt.

This event is open to all interested amateur radio operators.
