I reported on the passing of a former member of the Alexandria Radio Club in
the May ArcShorts. Yesterday at the request of Cory's widow, some of the
club members collected his amateur radio equipment for resale.
Mrs.. Hamasaki asked that we use the equipment or the proceeds of the
equipment to establish a training fund for new amateur radio operators. The
club will have to take up how we do this at the next meeting.
Cory was a refurbished of both Heathkit and Collins equipment. We have at
least two sets of the Collins 75S1/32S1 Transmitter/Receiver pairs, Several
Heathkit Receivers and Transmitters and a few Heathkit transceivers. Power
supplies are in short supply.
If you are looking for an HF amp. Cory had 3 Collins 30L1s and 2 Heathkit
SB-200s. Each is in the 64 watt in 500 watt out class. If you have a solid
state radio you will need a keying interface which can be had from MFJ or
you can make one. You DO NOT want to run the 125 Volt of keying voltage
into the relay on your solid state radio....
In addition there are two older solid state ICOM HF radios and a Ten-Tec
Jupiter. I have asked Rich, KA4GFY to give that radio a once over.
With our last major hamfest only a week away. I hope to make up a list of
what exactly we have.
If you are interested in purchasing any of this gear, please give me a
call. 703-317-9305
We still have some older gear from Ralph's estate including a Collins KWM-2
a Collins KWM-2A, a 312B5 Remote VFO and an old hammerlund receiver. I have
not had the time to check this gear out, but want to take it to the hamfest
if we have room.
I will load up my vehicle and the vehicles of a few volunteers at 6AM next
Sunday morning and take what we can to the Berryville hamfest.
Feel free to join us at the tailgate area and help us sell some of our
estate gear (my XYL would like to have the stuff out of my garage.)
Bring a lawn chair and camp out with us while your enjoying the hamfest.
