The ARRL has updated LOTW to process VUCC awards. See

for those of you using LOTW you may need to go back and upload your old
VHF/UHF contacts and include the grid square in your location when you
"sign" the submission. Uploading duplicate contacts is no problem - the
previous entry just gets replaced with the new entry. We see this all the
time with HF contacts where the operator uploads his/her entire logbook
again and again, e.g., GM4WZL. 

 

Bottom line: VUCC requires a grid square for credit - no grid, no match!
