Corrected spelling..got most of the words right....
We had a great Field Day. At different times for the event, we had over 40 people attend. And, we operated 5 stations plus a 6-meter station. I am always amazed that it takes 4 hours to set up, but only 2 hours to take all of it down. The Sat meal was super, Stephanie Adamy did a great job – barbeque ribs, chicken, and all the “fixens.” The temperature hit 99 degrees Sunday, but we all survived. Rich (KA4GFY) and Rick brought out the Club trailer. We put up banners. We also used two radios that were donated to the Club, and they worked perfectly.
Several stations stayed on the air 20 hours. We worked stations from Hawaii to Poland/Serbia with a Dxer’s delight Geuta and Melilla (ED9NA) Spanish cities in North Africa. We learned all kinds of things about our antennas and radios. While the total score is not in, I suspect we doubled the number of contacts over last year.
I told Rick (N4ASX) to book the park for next year; we can always change our mind and cancel. We can thank Art (KD4FBT) for organizing the FD; he did a great job. I know that everyone had a terrific time and, as Art instructed us, we left the Park cleaner than we found it.
Thanks to all who helped make this year’s Field Day a great Club event…
