Subject: GB> GE Ham News onlline!
Hi everyone,
Back in January I posted seven issues of GE Ham News on my web site as
background material to my article in the AWA Journal on "Operation Crystal."
The reaction to that posting of just seven issues was so enthusiastic that I
was inspired to embark on a three-month project, scanning one issue of GE
Ham News each day. Last Wednesday I finished and now some 90 issues are
available as high-quality PDF documents.
The URL is <http://n4trb.com/AmateurRadio/GE_HamNews/ge_ham_news.htm>

For the most part, the originals are of good quality. A few have some
handwritten notes and even some coffee cup stains. I mention this not by
way of apology; but rather, I like the little hints that these publications
once captured the attention of a fellow ham and I wonder what he (not much
chance it was a "she" back then) would think to know that his coffee cup
left a track that may be digitally preserved essentially forever..
I am missing a few issues: 3 within the span of my collection plus all of
the first year (1947) along with all after 1962. If anyone has copies of
these missing issues I'd be happy to scan and return their originals. I
also have LOTS of duplicates. I'd be happy to trade a dupe for any missing
issue.
Please enjoy this offering! There's no need to immediately download the
full collection, as my web site should be around for a long, long, time.
I've had a web presence since the Internet was opened to the public and I'm
not going anywhere. And please let me know if you find any errors with any
of the links.
It's been a lot of fun to take a good look at each issue; and I'm glad that
I didn't rush and try to get them all scanned as quickly as possible (even
if I had had the time). I'm amazed at the sophistication of the projects
and I hope having these easily available will spark some discussion of
specific projects! There are a couple of projects that I'd like to build
myself along with a few that I can't imagine anyone actually trying to
duplicate.
Enjoy!
73,
Brian
