[Alexandria Radio Club Reflector] The kit I talked about on the Thursday net

On Thursday, I mentioned a new kit for a 1-transistor 80 meter CW
transceiver. It's called the "Reggie", named after Reginald Fessenden,
the early radio pioneer. The schematics are in this month's CQ and in
the QRP Quarterly from earlier this year.

www.qrpme.com is selling the "Reggie II" kit, which is assembled on a
"limerick" style PC board. The price is $35.00. It has a few differences
from the first "Reggie". Some of the coils on the Reggie where IF cans,
but on the Reggie II, they are toroids. Also, the original Reggie was
meant to be used with an old pair of 600 ohm headphones, while the
Reggie II has added a second transistor as an audio amplifier for the
more easily found 8 ohm type headphones. There's still only on
transistor for the RF, used by both transmit and receive.

I'm just sending this in case anyone else likes to dabble in minimalist
radios.

See you at the party.
