Subject: Registration and insurance

To all ARES/RACES Leaders,

ECs, please see that this message is passed on in its entirety to your
members.

The Assistant Section Manager who handles registration has informed
me that our total number of registered members is approximately
800. Our monthly report total reads just a little over 1000
members. Therefore, we still have about 200 members that have not
registered.

In the coming two weeks the ASM will be forwarding to you a roster of
all those registered in your jurisdictions. It will be the full and
total responsibility of the EC to see that all his members are
registered and I ask that the ASECs and DECs both help and supervise
the ECs to insure that this is completed. In the event of an
activation by VDEM, those registered and recorded with VDEM will be
protected from suit and will have workman's compensation
insurance. This protection is being provided by the Commonwealth at
no cost to any ARES/RACES registered member.

You will receive more details on this protection in the near
future. Meanwhile, let's complete the registration. ECs, when you
receive your roster, please see to it that those who have not
registered do register.

73,
