The state has issued a new ARES / RACES Memorandum of Understanding.  ARES
is now RACES as far as the state is concerned.

In order to be an ARES volunteer, you must register with www.aresva.org
Even if you have volunteered before you will need to reregister.

Part of this will be to comply with FEMA's requirement for a background
check (traffic stop level).  The city wants all volunteers to complete FEMA
IS-100 on the web.  Takes about two hours.

Even if you can only help when there is a real disaster, now is the time!
Let me know if you what you can do and I will only call you when you are
needed.
