Good Afternoon.
Field Day is almost here. This is an invitation to everyone on this reflector to join us for Field Day.
We will be operating 1 CW station, 4 HF stations and 1 VHF/UHF station. There should be ample opportunities for everyone to operate at least one station. I am sure the band captains will enjoy taking a break from operating.
Here is a special invitation to our newer hams. If you think that you might want to try HF Side-Band operating, VHF Side-Band Operating, or CW operating, stop by on Saturday or Sunday so we can help you try a new and different side of Amateur Radio. This can also be a great way to find out what is needed for a portable station.
The weather forecast for Saturday is mostly sunny with a High in the upper 70s. Sunday is also supposed to be mostly sunny with a High in the mid-80s. We should have great weather for Field Day this year.
Setup will start at 9:00 AM at the Nanny J. Lee Recreation Center in Alexandria. This is next door to the Fire Training Center. The Field Day stations will start operating at 2:00 PM and run for the next 24 hours.
I hope to see you on Saturday.
73,
Art Pond – KD4FBT
Field Day Chairman
