I've used a RigBlaster Plus and Pro interface boxes, and now have a
RigExpertSD. All are great but like you say, serial ports are starting to
get scarce. New laptops won't have one so that narrows the choices to
RigExpertSD boxes and the like (MicroHam ?). If you're using a desktop and
have the serial ports then the Rigblasters are great - real serial ports are
much easier to configure for FSK RTTY than USB-serial converters (FSK RTTY
has some advantages over AFSK RTTY). If you're using a laptop then go with
the RigExpertSD. Btw, the MixW software ($50) is very cool and integrates
nicely with the RigExpertSD, but also works well with other boxes.

I've been looking at different approaches for digital modes on
HF. Narrowed selections down to Rigblaster and RigExpert
systems. Does any one have experience with the either system? If so
what kind of experience has it been?
Also since computers keep decreasing the availability of serial ports
what about USB ported setups?
