Information on the recent 6m band opening has been posted on the ARRL
web site, but 10 meters has also been open for the past month or so.
This is very odd, as we are at the bottom of the 11 year sunspot
cycle. The openings sometimes last for a few hours and may return
later in the evening.
Monitor 28.200 - 28.300 MHz for the CW beacons.
SSB traffic can be found from 28.300 - 28.500 MHz.
AM traffic can be found from 29.000 - 29.200 MHz
Stay clear of 29.300 - 29.510 (satellite freqs).
The FM simplex frequency is 29.600 MHz
FM repeaters are located on four channels:
29.620 Output / 29.520 Input
29.640 Output / 29.540 Input
29.660 Output / 29.560 Input
29.680 Output / 29.580 Input
Most repeaters require PL tones to activate the repeater, but when
the band is open, you can bring up four or more repeaters with no PL
tone at all. Do a Google search for 10m repeaters and find the
correct tone and frequency pair if you want to try hitting a specific
repeater.
