[AK-VHF] fixed satellite antenna question

   my rotatable satellite antenna system has some weather damage.  I'm
interested in putting up fixed circular polarized 2 and 70cm antenna.
Home building is the preferred option as I have materials on hand and
tooling available at work.  As there are many interesting options for
circular polarized antenna what design should I look at for optimum
near horizon performance?
