The net will begin at 9:30am on 144.200 USB and continues until 10:00am,
when the ARRL Sept. VHF Contest begins.
MARA Hamfest is also is being held tomorrow, so I do not expect a large
turnout for the net or the contest on Saturday.
I probably will only briefly call on 2m and 223.50 for the contest on
Saturday, spending most of the time calling/monitoring 50.313 FT8 for
openings from the lower-48.
On July 10th KL7HBK and KL7J operated the first F2 opening of cycle-25
to work Central Europe on 6m (I assume using FT8). The next two years
are when folks need to be ready for significant 6m skip openings. I
hope to install one of my LFA 5-elem yagis at ten foot (temp for the
winter); perhaps have both LFA yagis on 36-foot tower next spring.
I suggest contest operating on Sunday on 144/222/432/900/1296, when most
of the folks will be home from MARA Hamfest. I plan to start on 2m at
9am. Contest runs until 6:59pm (local). I will probably call on 146.52
FM and 223.50 FM, primarily. Haven't tested the vertical on 432 but
maybe have that, as well.
Wx has not been favorable for using a man-lift this week but I will have
a crossboom ready to install two 8-element 2m yagis at 45-feet of my
50-foot Hf tower. Hoping to raise my 80/40m dipole to 40-feet at the
same time.
Work continues on the new hamshack renovation. Recent mapping of new
cable runs to the new shack: 12 coax and 13 control and power cables.
