Post scrip:
Got final clamp on 3-inch diam crossboom of my eme "H-Frame" today.
Tough job as standard clamping plate's holes were too close. Finally
found one with holes 1/8-inch wider spacing. Fun working at top of
10-foot stepladder reaching up to 13 foot.
these camp flanges are about 4-inch long by 1-inch wide made of 1/4-inch
steel. 1/2-inch steel bolts are used. Three of these clamps hold the
entire eme array of four 21-foot long x-yagis and 12x12 foot H-Frame
made of 3-inch alum sched-40 pipe with 2-inch aluminum riser legs that
have 1.5 inch fiberglass end tubes. A fair amount of dead weight and
quite a bit of wind loading.
43F with 25mpoh wind makes for a chilly project. Hopefully, Sunday &
Monday are calmer and sunnier.
Next up will be the risers, then antennas.
Top two yagis will be about 19-foot above ground; lower two 7-foot.
Once all is assembled and eight coax lines attached, the tower will be
extended to 32-feet and array mounted on top using a boom truck.
eta end of October (hopefully).
