Got e-mail that they had completed repair of my BCM-220 radio and was 
ready for return.

The PA module and a bias regulator were replaced.  My guess the 
regulator shorted biasing the module into too high a power level.

Cost $129.69  New Radio price is $240

I will run it at 5w from now on to drive the 150w amp, so not likely to 
fail again.

ETA about a week
