Brandon,

Your original announcement had me wondering what kind of access there
was to the mountain: Do you have to drive part of Skilak Loop? Is
there a side road up (part way)? Or are you looking at a
hike? I've seen predictions of 4-6 inches snow for
tomorrow-Wednesday down here. When we get 2-inches with wind the
drifts are 2to3-foot deep.

I am 135 foot above sea level and have 30 inches of snow on my yard
(waste deep). Where I have dug a path (trench) its piled near to
shoulder deep. I've hand shoveled them three times this week (2-3
hours shoveling each time). That is a path of 70-foot length.

Proabably deeper at higher elevation. I would guess its snowshoe
country, if not too steep. Also, avalanche probable in the wrong
areas. I doubt there is a trail at this time of year (not like
trail to flat-top above Anchorage). Certainly not solo hiking conditions.

Have you contacted the Chugach Nat'l Forest for info?

On the topic of radio contact its probable that we could work (25-miles?).
