Net begins AT 9:30am on 144.200. I also monitor 223.50 FM.
Net will only be 30-minutes as the June ARRL VHF Contest begins at
10:00am All are invited to participate in the contest which encompasses
6m and higher bands. In AK that usually is 50 thru 1296 MHz. Both SSB
and FM may be operated; calling frequencies are allowed though moving
off is considered considerate to those not in the contest. Contest
rules are at June VHF (arrl.org)
<http://www.arrl.org/june-vhf>
Basically one exchanges four-digit grid square in place of a signal
report. e.g. I am in BP40 (Kenai Penin west side), Most of Anchorage
is BP51. Anchor Point-Homer is BO49. Small area centered on Kincaid
Park is BP41. Talkeetna is BP52.
Logs are submitted using Cabrillo format (on-line robot): ARRL Submit
Logs <https://contest-log-submission.arrl.org/>
In AK VHF Contesting is mostly an activity event vs competition. But do
submit a log as this shows support of the contest to ARRL coordinators.
KL7BSC will be operating as a Rover (in his truck) from several grids.
He will be using the club callsign KL7VHF: Rover Route Finalized –
Alaska VHF-Up Group (kl7vhf.org)
<https://kl7vhf.org/2021/06/05/rover-route-finalized/>
I will operate 144.200 USB and 146.52 FM, 223.50 FM, and 432.200 USB or
446.00 FM. My 6m yagi is pointed SE but you may see me on 50.313 FT8
At 10:00am on Sunday, Brandon will be doing a workshop on portable
operations at the Parker Park, 145. W. 4th Ave, Soldotna. This will be
an outdoor event so come prepare for weather and bugs. Bring you own
drink/food. No facilities at this park. 146.88/28 repeater call-in.
