[AK-VHF] NET: 3 July - 144.200 USB

Net Report:

Last week, due to FD the net was not officially held (but I did operate 
with no check-in's).

Yesterday:
144.200  Noise = S3/4 with new ext preamp and using the new IC9700; 
internal preamp reads S0 with noise.
KL7H = S9+10dB
KL0YO by relay (signals in the noise)
KL6M = S9

223.50:
KL7H = 2bar on BCM220

Craig tested several modes with me and most produced about the same 
signal (S3/4 with no preamp).  On SSB with internal preamp, he was S7.

Per measurements done by G4DDK, the IC9700 preamp NF is 4.8 dB and 10 dB 
gain; per measurements by me, my ext "WA2ODO" preamp NF is 0.1 dB with 
24 dB gain.  S7 vs S9 is 12-dB so on-air tests verify gains.

Preamp was installed in the shack for net.  I will move it to the base 
of the tower, today (which will improve system NF, somewhat).

Other news: shipment arrived from W6PQL for assembled modules for my new 
1200w HF/6m amplifier (est. two weeks to finish; some other parts in 
transit, yet).
