[AK-VHF] April 17 Net

Roger,

I suspected that. VHF conditions were not good
on either 144 or 222 bands today.

When snow is gone, I will rent a man-lift to work
on issues on the 6m tower: Try to get second 2m
KLM11 yagi working which would increase my signal
3-dB (1/2 s-unit). (Also fix rotator issue and
digital indicator, plus swapping out elevation
actuator). Easier to do in warmer wx without need of coats and gloves.

Also having a contractor put in a gravel drive to
the 2m tower and dig hole to pour new tower
base. Expect it will take all of May to
reassemble/test the 2m four-yagi eme array. When
it is back in service that should boost my signal
by at least an s-unit (may run more power when I
re-locate the eme PA to tower base).

We need to have folks listen for you with their
antennas pointed your direction (me too as you
are almost due north 021 and Anchorage is
060). KL6M is using a backup J-pole antenna
instead of his big 17-foot vertical with
significant gain. His antennas got bent over with high winds.

Thanks for trying.

Ed
