Sorry I won't be the hillside pivot man for this event. I'll be basking in Florida sun instead.

This is great news Ed. Thanks for your hard work getting all the paperwork in order with the FCC. Dealing with the bureaucracy is never fun.
For next weekend I have settled on a more focused rover route than in the past. Activating the grids north of Wasilla generally hasn't been profitable since there are too few stations with 6 m capability. You really need 6 m to reach out there, especially with the heavy forest cover.
So instead I'm going to focus on the Anchorage bowl and northern Kenai. I'll have two stops in Anchorage, one in Turnagain Arm, and one in Sterling. Since we have the APRS workshop on Sunday I won't be going all the way to Homer this trip. This run should have the way for doing that in the June contest though.
We will be putting KL7VHF/R on the air for sure!

Brandon

Today we received our new club callsign from the FCC: KL7VHF
This will be available for members use for special events such as
DXpeditions, Rovers, Field Day, etc.
It can ONLY be used by a registered member after getting permission
from the Board of Directors or President.
E-mail submission is adequate. Licensees ham call class limitations
apply (eg: if you hold a technician call then technician FCC rules
apply for use of this callsign).
Permission is given for Brandon Clark to use KL7VHF/R for his
participation as a rover in the January 2020 ARRL VHF Contest.
