[AK-VHF] Parks on the air

Hello group,

I was wondering if anyone in the group has experience with the Parks On The
Air (POTA) program?

I've been doing Summits On The Air activations for years and it's a lot of
fun, but here in Alaska the peaks are snowed in for half the year. It gets
a little treacherous when going on your own.

What got me looking at POTA is that all the state parks, state recreation
sites, federal lands, etc. count for the program, and most of those are
accessible in the winter. It looks like it might be something fun for the
winter time, or even in the summer when out camping (but not on a peak).

Anyone else have experience with POTA? I think on the net Dale mentioned
that he was familiar with it.
