[AK-VHF] NET: 27 July - 146.52 FM

Conditions marginal today:
AL7JX (Anchor Point) began with S6 but dropped to S5; found his
signal peaking at AZ=90 vs Az=55 (which is normal).
Glen and I work some kind of backscatter path as I hear nothing
direct path (Az =215).
KL7FZ S5 but Q5 with S4 noise level; he had trouble hearing me at noise level
Before the net I heard KL4E talking but did not hear him after net started.
About 10:17 I checked 144.200 USB and briefly heard someone; called
for the net while monitoring 146.52 with my vertical/FT-736R
10:22 KL7JK (Eagle River with 50w to a discone) came in nicely at S8
so propagation might have been frequency sensitive.
Also my array does not load well at 146.52 (SWR>2:1) which impacts my signal
Note: I normally monitor 223.50 FM during the net which offers an
alternate way to check-in
Next week: 144.200 USB with 222-Up Contest starting at 10:00am (goes
24-hours to 9:59 Sunday).
