Hello everyone,

Thanks for the good welcome. It sounds like I'm in the right place. One
reply mentioned a number of good high locations to go to for events. I
was wondering if the old Nike missile site above Arctic Valley is ever
open to the public? I saw that it is within JBER, but if you go on
Google Maps there is actually a 360-degree panorama available which
someone took from the top of the site. In the photo the site is full of
people who are clearly not military personnel.

Are there any other good high spots anyone can recommend in the Eagle
River area? I found the Mt. Baldy trailhead area which looks promising,
but that's all.

73,

Brandon

PS: I'm going to try and make the net tomorrow. That's good to hear that
6M and 10M FM are seeing some use. I have a Yaesu 8900 installed from
when I was in CA but I had been considering changing it out for a
different rig since there were no 6 M repeaters in the area and, as far
as I could tell, little to no 6 M activity. It will be good to put that
rig to use again.
