The net will begin at 9am until 10am on 144.200 USB. I will also
monitor 223.50 FM if anyone wishes to try that for checking in.
Made some more progress and now have 1296 working. I originally
removed the loop-yagi to install an non-metallic mast for the new 432
yagi (and the 1296 loop-yagi). But the 1296 yagi tested bad so
required removal to install a new driven element. That required
reinstalling and running a flexible jumper off back of the antenna to
connect with rigid 1/2-inch hardline. Got that complete and tested
with 2.2w output and 0.1w reflected. Also tested Rx after
resoldering power wire on preamp. 50w PA is non-functional so bypassed.
I still have wiring and adjustment of new digital elevation sensor
and testing the 900-MHz system. Wx was excellent this afternoon so
another day like this I should complete my upgrades. I tried raising
the array halfway but winch brake was frozen and not working (not
holding the weight) so left array at ground level (upper 2m yagis at
17-foot). Probably can thaw the brake system with my heatgun (ran
out of time for that today).
Hope everyone is enjoying the Olympics. Hope to see you in the
morning on the net.
